Site Management Accountant 

Brackley, Northampton

A leading food business based in Brackley, Northamptonshire, has an exciting opportunity for a Site Management Accountant.  Reporting to the Site Manager, you will maintain procedures which ensure factory production and accounting processes are demonstrably under financial control and, in doing so, generate cost and performance information that assists management and supports commercial decision making.

Main Duties:

•    To take ownership of the Weekly and Monthly Management Accounts with accompanying financial and operational commentary
•    Prepare reporting period Balance Sheet control files ensuring that all key schedules are complete and significant balances have appropriate auditable support

•    To take ownership of budgets and financial forecasts from which site based targets for cost and performance are generated and used to keep the factory focused on delivering against their KPIs.  To use subsequent variance analysis for more accurate re-forecasting.

•    To monitor, along side the Site Manager operational KPI’s on a weekly and monthly basis and highlight opportunities for continuous improvement
•    To prepare and maintain product standards and measure performance against these

•    To undertake ad hoc project work as required to improve the reliability and timeliness of information provided to the business

•    Create a finance team procedures document ensuring that it is complete and accurate for all procedures

•    To assist in ensuring that key internal control procedures (eg purchase orders, etc) are robust, properly implemented and adhered to by the business

•    To challenge existing accounting processes and procedures, identifying areas for improvement in order to ensure an efficient accounting process that is relevant for the current business and compliant with group practice and accounting principles

Key Skills & Qualifications:
Essential

•    Qualified CIMA or ACCA

•    Excellent working knowledge of Excel – does not need to be advanced (but an advantage), but needs to be highly proficient in deciding what formulas should be used and their application i.e. VLookups, Data Sorting, Pivot Tables

•    Good working knowledge of other Microsoft Office packages i.e. Powerpoint / Word / Office

•    Conversant and comfortable with different computer systems

Desirable

•    Previous manufacturing experience

•    Excellent analytical skills

•    Possesses good presentation skills.
