Global Financial Controller

Fast paced private equity company would be reporting to the Finance Director, this is a 'hands on’ controller role in a large, international, multi-functional division of a fast paced, private equity backed & market leading group. Acting as deputy to the Finance Director, this role is a key position within an international divisional finance team which is rapidly expanding and increasing the quality of its business partnering activity to support exponential growth.

Both strong leadership and influencing (organising and reviewing) skills are required, but with a high level of 'doing’ within a busy team.

There is a large emphasis on analysis, understanding and reporting of global business performance (and then influencing gross margin performance and working capital management in particular) - to a commercially focused divisional Finance Director; head office and internationally based business unit leaders, Regional Financial Controllers, and an analysis/evidence demanding management team (at both divisional and group level).

The role may require occasional international travel.

Business Process Improvement projects, as well as supporting integration of M&A projects, will also be a significant part of the role. There will be a need for this role to regularly deputise for the busy Finance Director in meetings with Senior Management, which demands strong influencing skills & the gravitas to develop relationships with key decision-makers.

With a real mix of responsibilities and working closely with a commercially focused Divisional FD within a fast growing international products and services business, this role is a great 'bridge’ to a future FD role.

Responsibilities include:

• Ownership of delivery of divisional level financial MI (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually)
• Leadership of the monthly global close and reporting processes and ownership of the reported monthly numbers
• Leadership of cash flow management across all business units (Gross Margin and EBITDA generation, capex, working capital)
• Ownership of balance sheet management across the division - assets, liabilities and risk
• Development of new business insight tools for the division such as (SAP) Business Objects

The ideal candidate for this role must have:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Strong academics/Degree educated (2:1 or above)
• Experience of working in a senior management team and influencing non-financial managers
• Strong analytical skills
• Commercially aware
• Ability to build and maintain solid relationships, internally and externally
• Advanced Excel skills are a necessity
