• Are you an ambitious ACA Qualified Accountant seeking the opportunity to make a name for yourself in a Group role within an exciting, acquisitive, cash-rich, corporate business?
• Do you exhibit technical excellence with the proven ability to oversee day-to-day operations within the Finance team whilst taking ownership of the detail?
• Do you have the personality to supervise a small finance function, whilst becoming a trusted business partner to Senior Managers and Board members?
• Are you outgoing and fun to work with? The type of person with a strong drive for accomplishment, with a strong sense of pride in their work but who can also take time out to share a conversation with colleagues?

If so, we'd love to hear from you. Our client is a £40m+ t/o highly regarded professional services business who have doubled their growth in the last year, and with further expansion and acquisitions planned, are set to continue their prosperity. Based in the European Head office (Altrincham area) this is an exciting Financial Controller opportunity (ACA Qualified) to take responsibility for the existing Finance operation and to support and develop the existing team and processes to meet current/evolving company demands. With responsibility for the core business and 2 subsidiaries, you will be forensic in your approach to financial reporting and control, and be comfortable in 'owning' the numbers and the detail. In addition to running the Month End, you will also undertake responsibility for forecasting and budgeting. This is a high profile, autonomous role reporting into the Finance Director and Board.

You will partner with Senior Managers and Directors, supporting them with meaningful reports and providing insight and context to the detail. Possessing superb analytical Excel capability, you will also exercise sound operational qualities, and you'll know that meticulous attention to detail and a fantastically organised approach are key to success. Great communication and expectation management is just as important as brilliant organisation: the business needs to know what to expect and when. Our client is interested in applicants who are ACA Qualified, ideally Big 4 trained second-time movers, who exhibit technical excellence. With a highly acquisitive growth strategy, you will gain exposure of new markets. Reporting directly to a commercially experienced FD, with a great track record of development and succession planning, the successful candidate will be well placed to further progress their career. You will be seeking the next role to continue your development to a number 1. This is a key appointment for the business and you will become part of a dynamic and highly capable team.

Aside from the kind of structure you might expect form a world-class, high achieving business, you can also expect clear measurables for professional development, training opportunities, regular team meetings, sharing of annual business goals, and industry talks - not to mention an environment where your contributions are recognised and rewarded. My client is innovative and encourages ideas; and ambition is at the very heartbeat of what they do.

The opportunities within this business are excellent. My client has a strong track record of promoting from within, and will support you in making this role your own and creating a name for yourself across the business. With a competitive package (to 60k), up to 26 days holiday (and the opportunity to purchase more), healthcare, pension and gym memberships, this is an outstanding opportunity.
