My client is a dynamic and acquisitive, PE backed business based in Cheshire. Having undergone spectacular growth under the guidance of an exceptional Management team, the business is growing from strength to strength.

We are currently looking for a high calibre Financial Controller to manage the Financial Reporting and Transactional Finance Teams teams, take ownership of the Profit and Loss accounts, Cashflows and Balance Sheets, and support the business in their drive for profitable growth. You will also be tasked with managing all reporting requirements for the business to ensure the delivery of timely and accurate financial information, driving all reporting processes, including annual budgeting and forecasting, ongoing flash reporting, Board packs, and bank & investor information.

Responsibilities under the remit of the Financial Controller will include:
• Management of a team of 16 people - 4 direct reports
• Overall responsibility of P&L, Cashflow and Balance Sheet
• External Stakeholder management including banks, investors, advisors and auditors
• Ownership of Technical Reporting and Control Environment
• Ownership and coordination of all Budget and Forecasting processes
• Oversee the Transactional Finance team including Payroll, Capex, AP and Credit Control
• Monthly Financial Accounts - reviewing and overseeing preparation of monthly accounts, analysis and commentary on results.
• Set and Manage Overhead Budgets and Operating Costs
• Ad hoc project work

The ideal candidate will be ACA qualified, or equivalent, already operating at Financial Controller level or possibly a highly ambitious Finance Manager / Senior Financial Accountant who has had exposure to both management and statutory accounts as well as budgeting & forecasting and looking to break into an FC position.

Applicants must be technically strong and have a good depth of understanding and experience of financial reporting under UK GAAP. 

Other essential skills and experience for applicants for this role include:
• Strong attention to detail but also able to take a strategic perspective
• Strong excel and modelling skills also preferable
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with people management experience
• Experience of working with / partnering teams outside of core finance
• Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment
