Our client is a £40m+ t/o rapidly expanding construction business operating across the UK & Ireland from impressive offices in the Warrington area. Operating in a high profile Commercial Management Accountant role, your remit will be to provide full P&L visibility across the business and its work in progress as well as providing more effective forecasting of revenues/costs for new projects and tenders. Reporting directly to an impressive Financial Controller, who is committed to developing your Commercial reporting and Business Partnering skills to the next level, you will have daily interaction with Senior Management and Directors across Finance, Quantity Surveying, Manufacturing, Planning, Sales and Operations. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Predominantly focussing on Project Accounting/Work in Progress reporting across 25-30 key projects (Up to £3m in value)
  • Business Partnering with Operations and Commercial teams - working to the common goal of driving company performance and profit
  • Supporting Monthly Management Accounts preparation (A Management Accountant in the team covers this but this role will assist)
  • Presentation of analysis, results and commentary to Senior Management
  • Cost and Revenue Analysis - with breakdown by business stream, project and division
  • Profitability reporting
  • Assisting with Budgeting & Forecasting

The FC is flexible on whether applicants are part qualified, qualified or Qualified By Experience as the key criteria for this role is someone with previous experience of working in a similar role for a multiple contract/project environment (e.g. Construction/Engineering). You will be commercially astute with the gravitas and personality to forge strong relationships with operations teams, and the credibility to support and influence at all levels. With daily interaction across all areas of the business and a remit of proactively looking to add value and deliver business improvement, this is a highly visible role touching all areas of the business and the FC sees the successful applicant being in a position to quickly make a name for themselves and progress within the business. Experience of Microsoft Navision would be of particular interest. A salary of between £35k and £42k (dependant on level and experience) is complimented with benefits including an impressive bonus scheme (Typically 10%), Pension and 25 days holiday.
