Our client is one of the most successful and highly regarded businesses in Merseyside and part of a Leading $Multibillion t/o Global manufacturing/FMCG group. As Management Accountant for a key customer portfolio, made up of major UK retailers, you will be responsible for the daily monitoring of the joint business plans for the companies main products and brands and the tracking of all major customer agreements. In this high profile, commercial role you will deal with Sales Managers, Sales Directors and the Group Sales Director providing detailed financial information of the major retail current and forecast performance, regularly producing reports for the senior management team across finance and the sales function. Responsibilities will include:
 

  • Development of the Accounts Pack / Board Report / Forecast for the business and communicating these to the relevant Stakeholders.
  • Working with the functional Directors to produce a robust monthly forecast
  • Operating as the Key point of contact for the budgeting process ensuring relevant data is captured with other Commercial Accountants
  • Maintaining and enhancing a monitoring report for the joint business plan for major retailers
  • Automation of the IT systems to ensure that the information is produced as efficiently as possible
  • Continued development of the IT Systems
  • Daily check of in store pricing to determine any changes which will affect the net margin target of the joint business plan
  • Weekly review of the previous weeks margin performance for both the customer and the group
  • Weekly update of the forecast of the volume, sales and margin performance of both the customer and the group.
  • Weekly report of the key issues effecting the joint business plan with the customer
  • Preparation of a monthly report for discussion with the customer on the main issues effecting the joint business plan
  • Maintain an issue log of all price changes, promotional changes and mix issues affecting the joint business plan.
  • Completion of the trackers for all major retailers.


Applicants will ideally be graduates and must be fully Qualified CIMA, ACA or ACCA Qualified with previous experience in a similar profile Commercial MA role within an FMCG business. You will be familiar with working to tight deadlines in a fast paced FMCG business, will have proven interpersonal and communication skills and will have the ability to provide credible commercial support to non-finance senior management. Strong MS Excel skills are essential and SAP experience would be advantageous. Benefits including 25 days holiday, Pension to 8%, Private Healthcare and free parking.
