Based in the Merseyside area, my prestigious client is a £Multimillion t/o Multi-Disciplined Civil Engineering business operating as an autonomous division of a FTSE 250 business that sits within the top 5 in its field. As Senior Management Accountant you will report directly to an impressive Head of Finance in a broad all-encompassing Management Accounting/Business Partnering role, with responsibilities including:

  • Providing support to the Head of Finance and senior leadership team spanning a regionally assigned portfolio representing approx 35-40 projects with an average contract value of £7-8m with larger contracts at £35-40m
  • Attending on-site and off-site Contract/Project Review meetings - ensuring operating units properly report on contract performance
  • Full responsibility of monthly site management accounts including WIP, overhead cost reports, profit and loss and balance sheet
  • Variance analysis and reporting
  • Preparation of cash flow forecasts, quarterly reviews, consolidation packs and annual budgets
  • Playing a pivotal role in the development of the new Oracle accounting system
  • Driving the business to optimize utilisation of working capital
  • Identifying areas of risk and following up on proposed solutions
  • Reviewing site based trading and cash flow forecasts
  • Ensuring business unit delivers quality timely, accurate information

Applicants will be fully qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA Management Accountants, with at least 2 years post qualified experience. Prior experience within a civil engineering / construction / housing / Project based business IS ESSENTIAL as is advanced MS Excel. Oracle experience is highly desirable. You will be a good team player with a hands on approach and will be able to converse with confidence & credibility at all levels up to Board level.
