A leading professional membership body is seeking a temporary Financial Accountant.
The role will involve:
-Produce separate year-end statutory accounts for the Institution, its Trading Subsidiaries and then produce the consolidated Group year-end statutory accounts in accordance with FRS102, the timetable agreed with the Institution auditors, to then present to the April Resourcing Committee.
-Prepare all audit schedules for the auditors and ensure resolution of audit queries in a timely manner.
- Work with our accountants to manage the preparation of the year-end Corporation Tax return for the trading subsidiaries to meet the HMRC timescales.
-Managing a team of 2 finance staff
-Produce three sets of monthly financial statements
-Support the Director of Corporate Services in the preparation of the annual budget
-Manage the quarterly VAT returns for the Institution and its trading subsidiaries.
Candidate requirements:
-Ideally qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA etc) although part-qualified considered
-Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of working with FRS 102 and other relevant accounting and charity standards (i.e. SORP)
-Strong understanding and working knowledge of accounts and audit preparation, budgeting and reforecasting best practice.
-Demonstrable evidence of working to tight deadlines
-Demonstrable evidence of managing a team
The role is likely to start on either the 13th or 20th March.
