Finance Business Partner – Sales and Marketing
Our client is a leading Multinational Pharmaceutical business with a strong brand and reputation, helping it to attract and retain top talent!
The essence of this role is to provide commercially focused Finance support to the Sales & Marketing Directors and their Brand Teams:
- Develop effective relationships to influence management decision-making
- Promote a data-led approach to performance management and investment appraisal, using financial analysis to create objective understanding and support actionable insights
- Demonstrate commercial acumen in evaluating risks and opportunities, and provide appropriate challenge
- Ensure efficient compliance with all relevant finance processes and controls
Core Tasks, Responsibilities and Authority:
Business Partnering
- Build and maintain effective relationships with the Sales & Marketing Directors and their brand teams
- Understand the commercial and regulatory environment in which the business operates
- Support the brand teams in managing their full P&L
- Attend brand team and sales cycle meetings, and provide appropriate input and challenge to performance assessment and decision-making
Reporting & Analysis
- Ensure provision of timely and reliable monthly financial performance reports
- Track and report the key risks and opportunities versus budget / forecast
- Collaborate closely with the Insights team to provide actionable information on sales performance
- Use financial modelling to illustrate the outcomes associated with alternative pricing / investment options
- Seek to continuously improve the efficiency of reporting processes, and maintain controls to assure the validity of the underlying datasets
Controlling
- Support budget holders to effectively manage spend
- Deliver timely cost centre variance and commitment analysis
- Conduct monthly cost centre reviews with budget holders and provide appropriate challenge on spend and phasing
- Ensure compliance with the PO process and associated financial approval requirements
Planning & Forecasting
- Support delivery of budget and forecasts, ensuring there is clear guidance to the business on the timelines and required inputs
- Review sales forecasts and assumptions and identify key risks and opportunities
- Ensure budgeted costs are supported by detailed headcount or activity information
- Provide required inputs and explanations to Finance / Operations on a timely basis
Other
- Support preparation of PPRS returns and act as the back up point of contact for the DoH
- Analyse the impact of proposed product pricing from a PPRS perspective; monitor product P&Ls and propose solutions to identified issues
Essential Experience
- Graduate, qualified accountant
- Track record of achievement in business partnering / FP&A roles in a large multinational environment
- Successful delivery of projects or change management initiatives

Systems and technical experience
- Extensive use of Hyperion Planning / Essbase for planning and analysis; advanced Excel (not Macros); SAP (FI/CO)
- Pharma experience useful but not essential
