A global organisation is seeking a Management Accountant to join their growing finance team based in Berkshire. This Management Accountant role is ideal for someone looking to develop their management accounts experience within a punchy commercial environment. The role is perfect for someone wanting to grow, develop and progress through the finance team whilst taking their professional qualification. You will take ownership of the area and 'make their mark' within the team.

Management Accountant responsibilities:

  • Acting as a Finance business partner; being the main contact for numerous cost centres and managing these through the month-end close, as well as being the daily point of contact throughout the month
  • Take ownership for the accounting of actuals and budgets for Departmental SGA expenditure circa £53m
  • Input and co-ordination of quarterly budgets and assisting in the development of accurate regular re-forecasting with cost centre managers across the UK business
  • Helping to maintain control and improve the compliance (internal and external) within the Finance department
  • Ensuring all areas are in compliance to internal controls (SOX) to meet governance and legislative standards
  • Key contributor towards the development of reporting for UK SGA's in coordination with the development of a new planning and reporting tool
  • Develop, maintain and prepare variance analysis between budget and monthly actual P&L figures and explaining variances to plan
  • Assist budget holders with queries and provide general financial support to non-financial managers.
  • Preparation of reporting for month end actuals and quarterly budgets for review to European Head office and Japan
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly budgets and business plans for the overall UK Business B/S & P&L, including gross margin calculations and analysis, as when required
  • Play an active role in new systems implementations within Finance - taking personal responsibility to ensure non-finance personnel become comfortable with all finance led system use
  • Assist the UK Finance team with ad hoc projects relating to all divisions as and when required

Requirements:

  • Part Qualified - CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • A well-rounded understanding of business in general
  • Strong communication
  • Able to bridge the finance/non finance gap
  • Well planned but with a flexible approach
  • Able to respond to challenging deadlines and requests
  • Preferably at least 2 years' experience in a financial or management accounting role
  • SAP, Hyperion Planning and advanced Excel skills are highly desirable
  • An ability to build good working relationships
  • A naturally curious and questioning manner
