Financial Controller - Real Estate - £80k - £85k - OUR CLIENT are a well-established and growing specialist Investment / Asset Management company. They have an expanding portfolio of assets across the length and breadth of the UK, with a focus on regional cities. They have instructed us exclusively to help them hire a Financial Controller to work closely with their Finance Director and senior management team, taking day to day responsibility for managing their finance function and the financial affairs for the company and all of its property-owning vehicles.

 

THE ROLE - Duties for the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing financial control for the subsidiary companies, investments and projects, including liaising with third parties such as property managers, banks, accountants and suppliers.
  • Managing all corporate and financial matters (legals, accounts, VAT, income tax, audit, treasury, pension and payroll).
  • Managing quantitative elements of all investor reporting, including quarterly management accounts.
  • Continuously appraising project returns and company promote positions.
  • Maintaining and developing of portfolio analysis information and performing project accounting where required.
  • Preparing and reviewing annual financial statements for subsidiary companies.
  • Keeping abreast of all relevant industry developments and networking to promote yourself and the business within the sector.
  • Strategic Budgeting including monitoring all company and partner investments in projects.
  • Providing forward looking budget based on current and potential business streams.
  • Assisting in the preparation of analysis, statistics and marketing material as part of fund raising efforts.
  • Assessing potential transactions and analysing the impact of potential acquisitions on portfolio performance.
  • Assisting on acquisitions/sales.
  • Arranging debt financing.
  • Making critical assessments of investment projects as part of ongoing asset management projects (e.g. extensions and refurbishments).
  • Presenting your views to colleagues, investors and other stakeholders.
  • Managing and supervising all of the company's finance team.
  • Managing revenues and expenses for all projects.
  • Managing the day to day company relationships with the accounts function of all property managers.
  • Advising in regards to the appropriate financial control processes, systems and infrastructure in order to support the current operations and future aspirations of the business.

 

THE CANDIDATE: To apply, you will be an ACA / ACCA qualified accountant with solid commercial real estate sector experience, ideally incorporating both the operations and investment side of the business. You will be a strong communicator with excellent presentations skills and be technically able with a proven track record in managing finance functions / operations. Any additional exposure to investor reporting and strategic level and /or transactional accounting would further strengthen an application.
