To analyse commercial business requirements across Lucy Electric, recommend appropriate solutions and work within project teams to implement approved software, processes and procedures. To be a member of the project team implementing Microsoft Dynamics AX across the Lucy Electric business. Ensure the system meets the service levels required by the commercial departments. Continue to develop AX through implementing new/enhanced modules.

Work with the Commercial departments, both pre and post sales, in all locations to enhance business processes, data flows and management information. The first major project will be to work within a project team to implement an integrated standardised AX solution meeting business requirements across Lucy Electric.

The job holder will analyse business needs, identify solutions, prepare realistic plans, work with consultancies to develop solutions, test, implement, document, troubleshoot and provide support to commercial departments. The work will involve significant time supporting preparation, training and go live in each location and providing on going support to all locations post go live. The job holder will work closely with IT staff to integrate solutions and build interfaces to other systems.

Detailed Job Description

The job holder will as part of the training, go live and support process is required to travel overseas for periods (weeks at a time) in locations such as Thailand and India.

Typically wok on several modules of the system at the same time. This will involve conceptual thinking, planning, organising internal and external staff, leading meetings, documenting requirements and an ability to link information from different parts of the system thus ensuring that implications of any change are well understood. Implementing solutions in different areas of the business and different countries will require a range of interpersonal skills including confidence, persuasion, guidance and an ability to train people of all levels. Maintain good communications with all interested parties.

Commercial teams require output documents for third parties, extensive reports and management information so business analysts will collate and develop appropriate reports, metrics and kpi using existing tools and working with third parties.

Maintain an up to date knowledge of commercial systems new and emerging. Participate in the development of Commercial departmental strategies and provide systems expertise for commercial teams. There is no direct financial responsibility but the role impacts on client satisfaction, repeat business and promoting the corporate image globally.

Candidate's Profile

The post holder is based in the UK and will spend a significant amount of time in each of the Lucy Electric locations working in project teams improving commercial systems, implementing Dynamics AX, providing reports and management information. Regular communications will be required with all the Lucy locations via video conference.

  • Future projects are expected to include Dynamics CRM.
  • Analyse commercial requirements within a UK and/or International business.
  • Designed and implemented new commercial and reporting processes. Obtained agreement to implement processes along with service levels and kpi's.
  • Worked with suppliers to implement new solutions to meet business objectives and service levels.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial processes within discrete International manufacturing.
  • Skilled user of commercial applications including a major ERP and CRM system.
  • Designed and prepared reports and kpi's for commercial processes.
  • Managing large volumes of data.
  • Advanced user of office tools including excel.
  • Worked on all phases of a project lifecycle from concept, analysis, design, implementation and support.
  • Project team member implementing Dynamics AX.
  • Business Intelligence software such as ZAP.
  • Software development using Microsoft tools including Access, Excel and reporting tools.
  • Problem solving and judgement.
