Business Intelligence Manager – Finance Directorate

£30,444 to £36,572

Location: Bootle

Insightful, Analytical with an eye for numbers.
You’ll support the future of nuclear.

The challenge

A fast-evolving public corporation, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is committed to shaping the future of regulation in the UK nuclear industry. As we look to bolster our existing financial governance, we have created the new role of Business Intelligence Manager, dedicated to producing critical management information across the corporate areas of our business.

The role

Joining ONR during a time of considerable change presents an exciting opportunity. Designing and developing reporting systems, you’ll drive the production of meaningful, insightful management information to key stakeholders across the organisation. With your level of proficiency, you’ll almost ‘second guess’ what internal and external stakeholders (such as the National Audit Office and Government) might need, and confidently translate your findings to suit a range of financial and non-financial audiences.

The person

Certainly with an Accountancy qualification (CCAB) - or working / willing to work towards it - you’ll have a strong background in using and developing financial, performance and management reporting systems, particularly Oracle and Discoverer/Hyperion systems. Technical abilities aside, your impressive communication skills will help to form good relationships with stakeholders at all levels, and solidify your reputation as a credible and trusted advisor.

The rewards

We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £30,444 to £36,572. Furthermore, you’ll be eligible for the substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits). Plus, you’ll receive a very generous holiday entitlement.

About us

ONR is a Public Corporation with a mission to ensure the highest standards of safety and security across all of the UK’s licensed nuclear sites. Our staff are drawn from a wide range of professional backgrounds in order to run a stand-alone business. There are specialist inspectors working in core functions including: civil engineering, radiological protection, human factors, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and nuclear physics. And, together, they’re involved in everything from assessing safety cases, inspecting nuclear sites and communicating our decisions, to training new recruits and representing the UK and ONR within the wider, international nuclear community.
