Budget and Management Accounts Manager – Finance Directorate
£37,383 to £45,965
Location: Bootle
Insightful, Analytical with an eye for numbers.
You’ll support the future of nuclear.
The challenge
A fast-evolving public corporation, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is committed to shaping the future of regulation in the UK nuclear industry. In an effort to maximise the quality and consistency of management information, we’re looking to bolster our existing financial governance. Our new Budget and Management Accounts Manager will play a major role by leading key financial processes.
The role
Managing a small team, you’ll oversee the production of meaningful and insightful management information, used to inform key stakeholders (including monthly reporting to Senior Management across ONR). Leading the detailed planning and delivery of the month-end forecasting and budgeting activities, you’ll regularly present your findings to financial and non-financial managers in a clear and concise way.
The person
A qualified Accountant (CCAB), you’ll have impressive experience of using and developing financial and management reporting systems (in particular Hyperion). Excellent financial modelling and IT skills will certainly be coupled with people management experience and the ability to build solid relationships with stakeholders at all levels of ONR.
The rewards
We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £37,383 to £45,965. Furthermore, you’ll be eligible for the substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits). Plus, you’ll receive a very generous holiday entitlement.
About us
ONR is a Public Corporation with a mission to ensure the highest standards of safety and security across all of the UK’s licensed nuclear sites. Our staff are drawn from a wide range of professional backgrounds in order to run a stand-alone business. There are specialist inspectors working in core functions including: civil engineering, radiological protection, human factors, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and nuclear physics. And, together, they’re involved in everything from assessing safety cases, inspecting nuclear sites and communicating our decisions, to training new recruits and representing the UK and ONR within the wider, international nuclear community.
