Senior Finance Manager
Competitive Salary – Grade B
Dunstable, Bedfordshire
Strengthening our property portfolio
- Influence our property investment decisions with insightful planning
- Motivate, manage and develop a small team
- Help build on our success in this high-profile role
We’re Costa, the nation’s favourite coffee shop brand*, pouring our heart and soul into everything we do and creating moments to remember for our customers, our communities and for each other. Together we turn sips into smiles, choices into opportunities and passions into careers. Help us spread a little happiness!
Who we are looking for
You’re not just any graduate-calibre qualified accountant, you’re so much more than that. You’ve got that rare skill where you’re able to communicate complex financial information in a way that’s easy to absorb. You understand business drivers, you easily pick apart what the core issues are and can logically convey these, and you can simplify financial modelling so that it is compelling and not jargon. As important, you’ve got some people management skills, which is great as you’ll be personally responsible for developing the investment analyst who’ll work closely with you. To bring all of this, you’ll have substantial commercial finance experience – ideally in property finance, but not essentially – within a fast-paced, large, multi-site retail business where you’ve proven you’re capable of maximising trading performance.
A bit about the role
Ours is a large property portfolio. And it’s getting bigger. This is a high-profile area of the business where your advice will help influence business-critical decisions about the opening, refurbishment and closure of our stores. With an investment analyst reporting directly to you, you’ll take on their development so that together you’ll produce timely, accurate and insightful planning to help inform investment decisions. You’ll highlight key issues and actions, and lead investment property meetings, pre- and post-completion so that learnings are quickly adopted. You’ll develop investment models that reflect investment and operating costs as well as revenues, using best practice appraisals so that your evaluations are water-tight. You’ll also provide professional support where needed and act as a business partner to the property team so that we’re getting things right first time. And by no means least, you’ll offer ad-hoc finance support as needed, and support in other capital expenditure decisions, including managing the Capex budgeting process and monthly reports.
So bring us your unique blend, together with ambition and experience and in return we’ll give you a competitive salary, a very achievable yearly bonus, plenty of benefits and more coffee than you could dream of to enjoy in a supportive environment.
