Based in Watford, Hertfordshire, our client is seeking a Management Accountant to join their team on an initial two - three month temporary basis, although it will go permanent for the right person.

This job would suit an experienced all round accountant who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be motivated and able to work on your own initiative with a hands on approach.

You will be responsible for the whole spectrum of the finance function from start to finish, including the cashbook, credit control, sales ledger, and all-round accounting duties. You will also be responsible for preparing calculations for VAT & inputting invoices when the department is extremely busy. You will report to a Divisional Financial Controller who will support this position day to day and who will assist in driving process improvements and change in this newly acquired business.

Previous experience of working on Sage 500 or 1000 in particular is highly advantageous, although it's not a prerequisite.

Job responsibilities:

• Proactively managing all bank & balance sheet reconciliations
• Controlling and maintaining the nominal ledger account
• Controlling the purchase ledger solely for the business
• Managing the credit control function and actively chasing customers
• Managing cash flow and handling VAT calculations
• Dealing with suppliers on a daily basis in regards to money owed
• Managing petty cash & expenses
• Other ad-hoc duties as required
