Our client is a high growth property business. A Head of Finance is required to support the continued growth of the business. Reporting to the Managing Director key responsibilities will include –
- Dealing with all accounting, financial, management reporting and taxation matters for:
- The residential property owning and development business that operates through the UK.
- The group’s onshore and offshore SPV’s that purchase land or options over land.
- To implement and develop appropriate internal controls and management information systems.
- To assist with the preparation of investor communications and develop and enhance the content and format of investor reports.
- To act as a principal point of contact with bankers, lenders and lawyers.
- To develop an understanding and awareness of commercial practice in the real estate sector.
- To deal with all compliance and regulatory aspects of the real estate operations.
- To liaise with the investors to ensure the timely preparation of accurate management information for the group.
- Maintaining accounting records for all related companies both onshore and offshore.
- Processing bank payments and transfers.
- Monitoring sales income and where applicable any rental income.
- Monitoring acquisition, planning and development costs such that any over-runs are flagged at the earliest opportunity
- Completion of monthly bank reconciliations
- Calculation of monthly interest charges on all outstanding loans.
- Preparation of monthly management information – providing critical analysis to the other members of the management team.
- Dealing with the monthly payroll and quarterly VAT returns.
- Liaising with the company’s auditors and taxation advisors.
- Reporting on the performance of the underlying properties in the portfolio.
- Assisting with the evaluation of potential investments.
- Preparation of budgets, forecasts and provision of analysis and commentary to support management review.
- Monitoring investment and development projects to ensure in line with budget.
- Attendance at board meetings and preparation of minutes.
- Undertake ad-hoc projects.
You will be a Qualified Accountant with excellent communication skills. You must have strong Excel skills, a flexible approach and organisational skills. It would be beneficial to have worked in the property sector previously.
