Financial Controller

My exclusive Import/Distribution sector client, based in Preston, is a growing and profitable privately owned group of companies t/o £15m with plans to grow the business to £20m within the next 12 months based on further organic growth and integrating a new acquisition.

Due to this ongoing growth and development of the business, a more experienced Financial Controller is sought to provide effective management and control of the Accounts function.

Reporting directly to the MD, you will be responsible for:

* Managing and developing a small efficient Central Finance team.

* Upgrade the current Sage 50 system to Sage 200 and implement all necessary new accounting processes.

* Production of accurate and timely financial and management reports, including consolidated monthly Management Accounts with supporting commentary for this SME group of integrated companies.

* Ensure the daily financial accounting routines are performed in a timely and efficient manner.

* Efficient Credit Control & Cash-flow management, including regular liaison with Bank to ensure covenants are being met at all times.

* Support the production of annual budgets and regular forecasting.

* Production of year end Statutory accounts. 

The successful candidate will be a "hands on" accountant with a strong and broad range of accounts production and reporting experience.
