Our client, a growing and acquisitive FTSE 250 listed company is looking to hire a Head of Tax. This is a newly created position in the company responsible for a Global tax remit.
Key Accountabilities:
- Strategic and “hands-on” leadership of the global tax function
- Responsible for global tax strategy development, planning, reporting and compliance
- Establish collaborative working relationships at all levels across the organisation as well as external parties including advisers and tax authorities
- Design and implement effective tax planning and structuring across the UK, US and the rest of the globe
- Manage related risks and minimise exposures whilst maintaining the Group effective tax rate
- Management of transfer pricing policy and development. Accountability for setting and leading the global transfer pricing strategy
- Supervision of all indirect taxes including VAT
- Provide tax advisory to the Group’s transactional and M&A activity. Responsible for delivering proactive tax advice to the business on efficient financing in relation to strategic transactions and funding of M&A
- Ensure all UK tax compliance responsibilities are carried out in an efficient and timely manner
- Enhance all global tax activity through astute leadership and project management, consistently improving tax execution and tax management performance
- Managing tax authorities' tax compliance investigations
- Maintain tax systems and processes, leading on innovation
- Managing external tax professionals where needed

Education and Experience:
- Excellent academic record including post-graduate degree with a professional tax and/or accounting qualification.
- Demonstrable current track record of tax function leadership, tax strategic planning and team management gained within a significant organisation.
- International tax expertise and cross-cultural business exposure.
- The client will consider candidates already in industry or candidates at a senior level within a global accountancy firm looking to make their first move into industry
