The SF Group are currently recruiting for a SME manufacturing business in Derbyshire to lead the finance team. This is a fast moving and competitive business, and the role demands the ability to react quickly as requirements change, as well as planning pro-actively to ensure the effective running of the department.
As the Financial Controller, you will have responsibility for all financial and management accounting, working with teams across the business to ensure accurate reporting of results and efficient delivery of information to relevant stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the finance team to ensure timely and accurate completion of day-to-day tasks, developing skills and experience to provide partnership support to the business
- Prepare accurate and relevant management information on a timely basis, working with department heads to ensure a full shared understanding of costs and revenues
- Identify improvements to financial systems and processes across the business, working with other teams to implement
- Manage day-to-day reporting and queries with banks and funding partners, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of required information
- Prepare regular cash flow forecasts and actively manage cash to ensure the working capital position is optimised
- Manage annual budget process and quarterly reforecasts, working with teams across the business to provide a thorough understanding of likely future performance
- Ensure compliance with all statutory tax requirements, including VAT, PAYE and corporation tax
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA), with previous hands on experience of working in a fast passed manufacturing environment. You will have strong systems skills, with the ability to thoroughly investigate and understand queries, and experience of a financial systems implementation would be beneficial but not essential. You will have excellent management skills, with a positive attitude and the drive to improve the team's capability and delivery.
