Interim Site Accountant

Reed Finance are currently supporting a £246m T/O Food Manufacturing and Distribution business with a site in Bradford in the search for an Interim Site Accountant for a period of 3 to 6 months. You will monitor and control site financial performance and provide financial input and challenge to the site leadership team.

You will ensure accurate information is collated and reported in order to support the Plant Manager in identifying corrective actions and making correct factory driven business decisions.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure processes and systems are reliable, in order to secure the correctness of all financial output. Does so through building and adapting processes and solutions that address complex business issues from a financial and economic point of view.
• Drives behavioral change by confronting business partners with the risks and financial impact of critical business decisions, providing fact based analytics around profitability, P&L, etc. Doing so stimulates business partners to include risk control and financial factors and constituents that influence the decisions/priorities taken, thereby bringing improvements to the business.
• Brings efficient and effective solutions to core financial business processes and thoroughly monitors, controls and adapts processes/approach to changing external and internal needs of the business.
• Ensures the soundness of control, compliance and, particularly, risk management as related to core business processes and decisions. Challenges the organization to ensure that assets of the company are protected by identifying risks around assets leaving the company without being accounted for.
• Examines plans and processes in order to improve, adapt and drive execution. Highlight outlooks and issues and flags major deviations to others for follow up
• Creates constructive tension between Finance and the business/functions through healthy friction and challenging business partners on critical decisions. Plays devil's advocate and questions the reasons behind the needs presented by business partners to get to the root of particular issues. Uses this to identify different possibilities and generate scenarios

You will be able to demonstrate:

• Detailed knowledge of financial management accounting gained through a recognised accounting qualification with significant post-qualification experience, preferably obtained in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced Excel skills
• Data modelling/Cognos experience
• Working Knowledge of SAP
