Commercial Financial Analyst

The Opportunity

Our client is an award winning retailer operating from 150 stores UK wide. This PE backed business has grown through investment and strategic acquisition.

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis is looking to recruit a Commercial Financial Analyst to join the team and support Marketing and Trading for the business.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of the retail sector or a multi-site business and be able to demonstrate commercial acumen through working with the business operations. You will have a track record of working cross function with some business partnering experience ideally in the areas of Trading and Marketing.

The Role

• Work closely with business partners to understand forecast and actual business performance and to aid commercial decision-making.
• Prepare all financial reporting requirements as requested.
• Analyze data to ensure accounting procedures are adhered to.
• Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance.
• Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of the results of the division’s performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results
• Responsible for performing the day- to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas.
• Provide practical business leadership to drive business decision making across the company.

The Requirements

• Previous retail/multi-site sector experience.
• Strong financial analysis skills.
• Effective communication skills (written & verbal).
• Ability to work well in a team in a team environment.
• Able to demonstrate initiative and influencing skills with non-finance
• Customer Service Oriented.
• Understanding of accounting processes, procedure and internal controls.
• Able to work within a fast paced but fun environment.
