Senior Financial Accountant

Our client, a major insurance firm based in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join the team. The business is going through a period of change with a heavy investment towards new change projects. The role allows an experienced accountant to gain full understanding of, and take full ownership of statutory and regulatory reporting for a large Life Company, produce technical papers for senior stakeholders up to Board level, and get involved in key projects around the business. This role may have line management responsibility and therefore we are keen to recruit those that have management experience. This is a great opportunity to join this team as the Reporting area has the final review of all accounts and regulatory returns before submission to our internal and external stakeholders. Therefore accuracy and ownership of the technical work involved is paramount.
The ideal candidate would have the following:
*A technically strong Qualified Accountant with Financial Reporting experience;
*Should have come from a prior industry financial reporting role and/or have top 20 audit based experience;
*Someone self-motivated and managed, as-well as keen to share best practice across their team;
*Have proven review/analysis based experience and a keen eye for detail;
*Financial Services Experience, particularly Insurance based experience would be preferred, including some exposure to Solvency II.
