We are currently recruiting a Finance Manager for our client a growing global business based North of Cambridge. Due to business growth our client now needs to bring in a Finance Manager to support the FD and manage a small finance team.

The role is to ensure that all financial information is recorded accurately on a timely basis and you will be responsible for preparation of the monthly Management Accounts as well as the statutory Financial Statements at year end.

You will be an integral part of a worldwide accounts team producing internal and external financial reporting in the UK

Main Duties

• Preparation of the monthly management accounts pack
• Responsible for the Nominal Ledger and Trial Balance
• Monthly variance analysis
• Reconciliation of ledgers to Trial Balance
• EU Sales listing reporting
• Intrastat reporting
• VAT preparation
• Maintain the fixed asset register
• Prepare and post the depreciation journals
• Reconciliation of General ledger to stock ledgers
• Establishing and maintaining appropriate Credit Control procedures
• Setting new accounts and establishing credit limits
• Oversee the monthly routines for customer statements and reminder letters
• Oversee the sales invoicing routines and credit note processing for returned goods
• Overseeing the accuracy and processing of Purchase invoices
• Process BACS runs and other bank payments
• Responsible for the US $ and Euro payments to suppliers
• Payroll
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets - revenue and expenditure
• Assist / liaise with external auditors re Statutory Accounts / Banks
• On line filing with Companies House
• Tax computation schedules / liaising with R&D team re: tax credits

You will ideally be a qualified accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA with strong communications skills as you will be dealing with senior management and reporting to the board. It is important that you have a hands on approach and are prepared to support the team. You will also require good analytical and problem solving skills, ability to work without direction and be commercially aware. Previous accountability for managing the group accounts of a business would be advantageous
