Purpose of this role -
* Lead and develop the Technology Finance team to ensure the financial reporting needs of the Technology Function are met
* Monitor the effective and efficient use of technology budgets, propose improvements and cost saving ideas for review
* To act as a cross functional business partner to enhance the understanding of financial performance and the use of financial date to support the business
* Work closely with the Head of Technology Finance on a multitude of projects to support the changing needs of the Technology Function
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
* Manage the Technology Finance team to deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts
* Analyse and prepare commentary in regards to the monthly management accounts, providing insight to aid sound commercial decisions to key stakeholders
* Improve the Technology Finance teams performance and enhance financial control through continuous improvement initiatives around process, ways of working etc
* Provide extensive support to the Head of Finance in order to implement change and other initiatives across Technology
* Act as business partner across the internal functions/global and local finance teams to drive financial efficiencies, enhance the understanding of financial performance and use of financial data to support the business.
* Lead and manage the 5 year plan and budget process within the Group budget timetable, ensuring information is accurate, provisions are financially sound, and within divisional and group targets.
* Create monthly consolidated forecasts for Technology expenditure, testing assumptions where necessary utilising information gained from various meetings, trends and business/ knowledge, identify and communicate opportunities and threats to the Head of Finance. This supports the provision of accurate forecasts, and details year-end implications, to the Head of Finance.
* Provide advice and guidance to all finance issues, ensuring solutions are effective, appropriate, and adhere to Group accounting policies
* Recruit, develop, manage and motivate staff to ensure that they proficient in their roles and that they are able to meet the requirements of their roles
To be considered for this role you will be a qualified accountant or qualified by experience with clear relevant experience
You will also be able to evidence -
* Extensive experience of the financial control/management of a large department or function.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships at all levels within the organisation.
* Ability to develop, lead, and motivate a team of people.
* Achievements in process improvement or developing controls/budgets etc would be advantageous
The salary available is up to a maximum of £50k plus a large range of additional benefits.
