Churchill Howard are recruiting a Head of Finance role for a fast paced FTSE listed plc in Birmingham. This is a high profile role which will have exposure as a business partner to board level directors so we are looking for a high calibre, driven and ambitious individual.
The Head of Finance will lead a team responsible for the delivery of insightful commercial financial analysis and MI to the business area with responsibilities including:
• Providing challenge and support to directors regarding commercial decision making
• Financial ownership of functional group P&L
• Lead on completion of budgets and forecasts for area of responsibility
• Motivate and lead a small team, supporting their professional development and career progression
• Evaluation of promotional activity and marketing initiatives
• Identify and capitalise on commercial opportunities using trend analysis and long term commercial plans
• Contribute to long term business strategy, ensuring functional area in line with overall business objectives
• Challenge business managers and directors on sales, margin, stock and costs, developing and supporting action plans
The Person:
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA or equivalent) with excellent academic background and a proven track record of high performance in a fast paced commercial finance role. Additionally, you will be:
• An outstanding communicator, with influencing skills to develop strong relationships at all levels of the business
• Results driven, with energy, flexibility and commitment to deliver on behalf of the business
• Able to thrive and perform in a fast paced, pressurised environment
• An accomplished leader, able to bring the best out of a team and inspire others to achieve results
• Able to analyse complex data to inform decision making
• Open to change and driving a continuous improvement ethos through your team
