Financial Controller

My client a successful, privately owned, family run business, is currently recruiting for an FC/FD Designate to join them to manage and develop the Company's accounting function.

This role will provide support to the senior management team and manage all aspects of finance and systems to ensure appropriate control with accurate, reliable and timely reporting of accounting and financial information in accordance with agreed timetables.

• To develop and manage financial accounting and ensure the timely preparation of statutory accounts, profit and loss, balance sheet
• To coordinate, the preparation of weekly management accounts and reports
• To maintain ongoing control of cash flow and report on potential shortfalls/surpluses
• Supervise credit control and collections
• The preparation and review of annual budgets and control of expenditure against these budgets
• To ensure that relevant statutory returns are completed in compliance with statutory requirements and submitted within set time limits
• Liaison with the auditors on Year End Accounts
• Full accountability for bank and cash
• To manage, analyse and monitor monthly stock and cash flow and monitor daily Cash at Bank and Daily Sales figures
• Ensure that appropriate insurance cover is maintained for all risks
• Attend Board meetings to present on the Company's financial results, forecasts and performance against budget and targets
• Assistance with the management of the current IT function of the business
• Actively manage the Company's overhead base in so far as is practical to achieve desirable efficiency and cost savings
• Provide input to strategic decisions on financing and the expansion of the business
• To contribute to the company's strategic development and take an active role as a member of the management team

• To review current pricing, estimating and costing to identify opportunities for improved margin
• To review stock policies in all areas with a view to cost reduction and the maintenance of meaningful levels of stock
• To assist the board with the development of financial forecast for the next three years

My client is looking for a fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) accountant with a strong financial background. Consideration will be given to a 4 or a 5 day working week.
