Financial Accountant

This role will be responsible for conducting the year-end process within the Accounting Team. This Financial Accountant must deliver accurate and timely financial statements, analysis capability, solid financial controls and successful year end audit as well as identifying and developing a talented and empowered accounting team of analysts.

Our client is an established and high profile Central Government Department looking for a outstanding and technical Financial Accountant to support it's year-end close process. Our client is located in Central London.

Description

As Financial Reporting Accountant your main responsibilities will include:

-Setting out requirements and challenging inputs for sections of our annual and interim results
-Delivery of Q1 and Q3 external reports, working with senior stakeholders for sign off
-Working collaboratively with contacts across the business to help answer technical accounting and audit queries.
-Researching new governance and technical guidance and presenting back on your research.
-Supporting the team with coordination of actions, papers and planning of the monthly technical accounting

Profile

The successful candidate:

- Strictly ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA qualified

- Strong understanding of IRFS

- An established knowledge of government finance and year-end procedure

- An ability to work in a dynamic and high pressure environment

- Have experience of technical accounting and external financial reporting, either in practice or a large organisation;

- Have excellent communication both written and verbal.

Job Offer

This Financial Accountant role offers a £300 pay rate a day over a 4 month duration. This role will be in scope of IR35 and so the contractor must be prepared to operate via Umbrella company or PAYE.
