Statutory Accountant

Working with a growing, private equity back business, this is an ideal role for a newly / nearly qualified Accountant looking to work with and support the growth of businesses both in the UK and abroad.

As a key member of the compliance team, you'll need to be able to prepare a set of statutory accounts and be confident engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.

You'll be responsible for the following;

• Ensure the processes for the documentation and storing of clients statutory accounts are fully adhered to in line with specific legislation and internal procedures.
• Gain a full understanding of the reporting requirements relevant to the clients allocated
• Manage a small team of individuals to ensure that client services are provided within agreed terms and to agreed processes.
• Ensure appropriate information is gathered from both internal sources and the client to allow delivery of compliance advice and services.
• Liaise with auditors and external affiliates as appropriate, to ensure that all local GAAP requirements are fulfilled.
• Review and finalise the reconciliations between local accounts and the client's management accounts, to ensure that the client is provided with a full and detailed explanation of the differences between each set of reports.
• Review the circumstances of each client to identify potential business development opportunities for other services offered
• Keep abreast of developments in compliance/statutory accounts that will impact the client base.
• Provide support to other senior members of the team as requested.

What's essential is experience of preparing and delivering statutory accounts and as well as knowledge of the external statutory audit process.
