An opportunity for a Payroll Manager to join a London based, multinational business on an interim basis.
The payroll role will cover all aspects of payroll management including required processing and reporting, to providing daily advice and support to the business with regards to tax and general pay inquiries.
The Payroll Manager is responsible for efficient running of payroll activities within the business. The payroll team delivers both fortnightly and monthly payroll services for multiple UK entities.
The role includes responsibility for managing a payroll team of three permanent members of staff.
Key Activities:
Process monthly and fortnightly payrolls across multiple UK entities: 600 monthly and 800 fortnightly payments
Deliver against submission and payment monthly set targets
Enforce company procedures and legal requirements from HMRC
Manage and motivate payroll team, to deliver a payroll service effectively, accurately and on time.
Ensure all monthly / fortnightly adjustments have been calculated correctly within ADP Freedom
Understand HR system workflows which have impact on ADP Freedom monthly payroll, including working with HR teams to ensure ADP is populated with timely, accurate and authorised data
Submit accurate pension details and support external pension scheme advisors (Scottish Widows) on queries and staff pension deductions
Support program of continuous improvements to increase efficiency of FSSC department
Work with the finance department to ensure that all employees continue to be coded and costed to the correct place within SAP
Administer the pension scheme contributions through ADP
Ensure the accurate and timely submission of the monthly PAYE return and liaise with HMRC on any relevant matters effecting payroll activities.
Complete Government payroll statistics returns and required employee information requests.
Produce accurate and timely reports for headcount and payroll costs for both internal and external use - Including monthly payroll reconciliations
Technical skills required
ADP Freedom Experience
Payroll qualifications - CIPP or equivalent
Solid understanding on HMRC payroll legislation
Good Microsoft Skills - MS Excel, and Word
Accuracy & strong attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Track record of delivering process /service improvements
Experience of working under an environment with workflow systems
Ability to build constructive relationships with colleagues and maximize available team resources
