Title: Management Accountant

Salary: 35,000-40,000 + 3k Car/Allowance

Location : North West/ West Midlands

Oliver James Associates is proud to be working with a well-established Logistics firm. The role has a real focus on Business Partnering and looking after a portfolio in the Midlands with travel 2-3 days p/w. The remainder of the working week will be based out of Warrington.

The role involves managing costs effectively and maximising opportunities to enhance business profitability, delivering effective commercial solutions by understanding the customer's needs, processes & priorities

Developing strong business relationships with the operational team along with the shared service centre, whilst playing an important role within the Finance team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Review & Validate Site WPE's prior to submission to the business.
  • Monthly Preparation/Review of P&L with supporting Variance Analysis.
  • Monthly Preparation/Review of Balance Sheet for the portfolio.
  • Support ongoing Continuous Improvement Programs, providing analytical support and identifying cost saving opportunities.
  • Preparation, Review, Consolidation and presentation of Budget & forecasts.
  • Commercial analysis and reporting to assist with customer negotiations and renewals.
  • Capital Investment/Business Case review and evaluation.
  • Develop a strong control environment within the portfolio. Review current processes to ensure effective and efficient management of the company's finances and compliance with company procedures.
  • Preparation/Review of quarterly rolling forecast.
  • Debt Management, liaison between SSC Credit Control and customer.
  • Review and coordination of the Fixed Asset register.
  • Monthly preparation/Review of Customer Cost Statements and Interact with portfolio customers regarding business retention ,account management, commercial negotiations, attend open book reviews.
  • Preparation and presentation of customer budgets.
  • Develop a strong Business partnering role with the Portfolio General Managers and Depot Managers.
  • Support the operations managers to ensure that they have strong financial awareness of their sites financial performance.
  • Adhoc Projects & analysis.
  • Liaison with Internal/External auditors.

Successful Candidate

  • Finalist / Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA).
  • Proven track record in a similar commercial supporting role within logistics/service/manufacturing sector.
  • Strong MS Office skills, Excel Advanced, PowerPoint.
  • Strong Presentation skills.
