Finance Director

Our client, a private investor-backed consumer goods business, with a turnover in excess of £60million, is in a pre-management buy in phase. The transaction is due to complete in early summer and they require an experienced Finance Director to support the final extrication processes and lead the design and build of a new dual site group reporting structure.  

Pre-completion objectives will include the transition of the operations onto new IT platforms, designing the future finance & accounting organisation including resource management and recruitment, setting up insurance and new bank accounts, completing the debt funding and overseeing the execution of the sale & purchase transaction.

Post transaction the role will have extensive commercial and operational input. It will closely manage creditor relationships while the business and cash position stabilises, deliver operational insight to the senior management on reducing operating costs, growing the business and improving  profitability, as well as supporting more strategic initiatives around capital expenditure and business development proposals, through to the evaluation of acquisitions and disposals.

This is a high profile role and the successful candidate will need to possess a track record of clear leadership and board level capability. Applicants must be qualified and whilst there is a strong preference for FMCG or process manufacturing sector experience, more important is proven experience of managing businesses through significant organisational change, combined with a hands on structured approach to finance, based on robust controls and commercial reality.
