Our client is a well-established and highly regarded family owned FMCG manufacturer based in the Wrexham area. Operating as the number 1 in finance role this is an all-encompassing Financial Controller role, with a broad and autonomous remit including:

  • Reporting to the Directors/Business Owners, operating as a key member of the senior management team with interaction with all areas of the business
  • Taking full responsibility for all financial and office matters, managing a small team of administration/finance staff
  • Ensuring the timely and accurate processing of purchase and sale ledgers, credit control & payroll
  • Monthly Management Accounts, including variance analysis with narrative on financial results
  • Presenting management information to the senior management team
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Monthly VAT returns
  • Liaising with customers & suppliers on financial matters
  • Main point of contact for annual audits
  • Overseeing all tax and regulatory / compliance issues
  • Developing the financial reporting suite to meet the evolving needs of the business
  • Reviewing and modernising existing controls, processes and procedures
  • Documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Applicants will be fully qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA with previous experience of finance team management/financial control responsibility for a similar profile SME business. You will have a thorough knowledge of accounting principles & procedures as well as a high commercial acumen and possess good MS Excel and IT skills with previous experience of ERP systems. You will be organised & efficient, with a passion for adding real value through developing the finance function and its contribution to the business.
