Business Unit Financial Controller - Circa £45,000 - £50,000 - Aylesbury - 3 years post qualified accountant

A Financial Controller job opportunity has become available for a Qualified Accountant to head up the finance of the business unit situated in Aylesbury. This business unit is the head office for a division of a worldwide organisation that is currently turning over in excess of 30 Million. You will be joining a fast paced business that have just moved in to new offices and are keen to expand through organic growth and acquisitions.

Your new role
As the Financial Controller you will report directly in to the Group Finance Director and also support the Senior Business director with the day to day running of the business unit. This will involve your monthly management accounting and reporting that will be submitted to the group finance team to be consolidated at group level.

You will also be solely responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the finances and this will be reviewed at year end where you will manage and produce the statutory reporting at year end. You will also be the lead for the year end audit and liaising with the auditors to make sure everything is correct.

As the Financial Controller, you will support the Senior Business Controller in several roles. As they will be out of the business regularly, they will require you to support the management of the business operations and ensure that it is running efficiently and smoothly. This will require you to work with the managers to ensure they are pushing their teams to achieve their targets.

You will also support the Senior Business Controller in providing advice and guidance of the business performance both from a financial and operational perspective to guide his approach to the management of the business. This will also support their sales targets and new business pitches. The business is also striving to not only grow organically, but to grow through acquisitions. This will mean you will be assisting with the due-diligence process.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this Financial Controller role, you will ideally be a qualified accountant with 3 years' post qualification experience. This role will require you to be a senior member within the business, meaning you are to be a confident people manager. You will be require to support various senior managers, so the ability to business partner is ideal. This role will also offer commercial support, meaning the ability to provide in depth financial planning and analysis is key to this role.
