Finance Analyst - Treasury

What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Group Treasury Manager, this role will be responsible for the delivery of back office treasury processes and controls, as well as supporting the Treasury Manager in all aspects of treasury management across the group. 

Group Treasury sits within the Group Finance function and is responsible for managing the group’s cash and funding position in the UK and across its international businesses. We also manage an external debt portfolio in excess of £1 billion, and are responsible for all interest rate and foreign exchange risk management across the group. The role offers the opportunity to make an impact in a small team setting and have regular contact with senior members of the Whitbread finance team. 

This role will be responsible for the delivery of all daily back office treasury processes, including confirmation of deals, daily operation of the group’s treasury management system and online banking systems, and oversight of group bank accounts. The role will be responsible for accounting processes such as the posting of accruals, reconciliation of bank accounts and the provision of treasury reporting, as well as monthly reporting on treasury KPIs and metrics.

The team has recently implemented a new treasury management system (Reval) and the role will involve leveraging the capabilities of this new system and driving improvements and efficiencies in our working practices. The role will also involve the coaching of more inexperienced team members as required.

  • You hold a basic accounting knowledge, understanding of the accruals principle and bank reconciliations.
  • You can prioritise workload in order to meet deadlines whilst adopting a flexible approach. 
  • You have experience of working as part of a team and can build effective relationships.
