A well- known Public Services organisation that works within improvements and major work projects throughout the UK is undergoing a change to become more commercially driven.

Your new role
Based in the Guildford office of c.200 staff you will report to the Finance Manager and be responsible for managing 1 member of staff in finance. You will be able to form strong relationships within the wider finance teams and stakeholders across all directorates, communicating financial results, adding insight through identification and communication of key issues in business performance, drawing on standard and ad hoc analysis. You will influence the performance of major projects and ensure decisions are taken with due consideration of appropriate information and in an informed manner. You will also provide day to day subject matter advice on all finance matters. You will contribute to all key strategic and commercial decision making and planning, budgeting and forecasting to drive the long term performance and delivery of major projects.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be CCAB/CIMA Qualified from either the private or public sector and have significant finance, governance and commercial experience. Previous management experience would be useful but not essential as what's more important are your strong people skills. The ability to manage and develop robust complex business cases is vital as is communicating that to finance and non-finance staff. Strong presentation skills are need and IT skills with Oracle would be ideal.
