The company:- was founded over 20 years ago and generates revenues in access of £140m. It provides its services to over 30 countries around the world and is part of a much larger US corporation with a t/o in access of £1b. It is one of the largest telecommunications businesses in the world.
The role is the Shared Service Centre Accounting Manager and will report to the UKFC.
You will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the department, ensure that robust controls are implemented and adhered to and that the department is perceived as real value across the business group. You will take immediate responsibility for the day to day operational transactions in the payables/receivables and have a wider remit that will include:- involvement in credit control, credit analysis leading a team of 7, improve performance & deliver business objectives, cost reporting, with budgeting and forecasting. Identifying and maximising cost saving areas comfortable challenging budget holders and ensure a robust, focused team is in place to achieve results.
The person:- will have a strong understanding of how a SCC works with significant hands on experience in a similar role ideally from a telecommunications, FMCG, Retail or multi site corporate business environment. A self-motivated individual with the drive and desire to get results - A strong man manager with a successful background in mentoring and managing teams. Excellent communication skills comfortable building relationships with internal/external customer's a proven track record of building teams/ identifying implementing improvements. A dynamic, forward thinking team player comfortable influencing change and the decision making process. A pro active get involved 'can do' approach, a problem solver that works well to tight deadlines.
