A highly acquisitive, rapidly growing AIM listed Plc is seeking to appoint a Commercial Finance Manager/Business Partner to support the recently appointed FD.
The company currently turns over c. £70m, is profitable and growing extremely quickly, driven by a buy and build strategy (M&A). This role will play a key part in integrating the acquisitions and standardising commercial reporting and decision making across the group as it rapidly scales whilst managing a small team.
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
• Work closely with the Operations Director, particularly with respect to variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
• Prepare the monthly financial results before they are released to senior finance and operational management.
• Produce cost trend and benchmarking reports to ensure management decisions are made with the best available data.
• Initiate and manage projects to improve business controls and profitability, prioritising them according to business impact.
• To present and take an active role in financial reviews for all contracts under remit.
• Preparation of annual budgets and re-forecasts when appropriate.
• Undertake business analyses and advise the senior management team on business mix, cost structure and capital base.
• Manage the weekly profitability flash reporting.
• Oversee key nominated suppliers to ensure optimal service & delivery and adherence to contractual terms.
• Act as an adviser to the management team on commercial issues.
• Liaising with the Credit Control Team in order to maximise cash collections from the debtor ledger and ensuring dispute queries are resolved in a timely manner.
• To liaise with Operations staff to ensure timely and accurate monthly stock takes.
The successful candidate will be:
• Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA), 0-5 years PQE
• High numeric and analytical skills
• Project management experience
• Ability to communicate oral and written information concisely and logically
• Ability to analyse and evaluate information
• Excellent inter personal skills with proven ability to influence
• Ability to effectively plan and organise own and team members work
• Positive attitude towards colleagues
• Previous experience of managing teams
The right candidate must be driven, have the ability to build valuable relationships across departments and be experienced in relaying financial detail to non-finance individuals.
