Group Financial Accountant

Macildowie are delighted to be working in an exclusive partnership with MacIntyre Hudson LLP to recruit a Group Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. The role will be based at their Milton Keynes offices and sit within the head office finance function. The current incumbent of the role has decided to retire and thus creating an opening for a hardworking, driven accountant to join the firm.
Before reading further, please be aware that this is not a 'practice' accounting role. Should you be looking for an Audit, Tax, or Compliance role then this will not be right for you. However, should you be a practice trained accountant looking for a role that will give you experience of 'industry' accounting  then this will be of interest.

Background on the role & firm
Most people will associate MacIntyre Hudson with auditors and tax advisors who provide high quality financial advice and accounts service to their loyal client base. What people sometimes forget is that for all this to happen there needs to be a diligent finance team in place working behind the scenes to deal with the firms group accounts, reporting, VAT returns and budgeting.
Up until recently there has been a long serving incumbent of this vacancy. They have now retired and the firm are looking to appoint their successor. The role will report directly into MacIntyre Hudson's Finance Director who has been in situ for over 10 years and manages the finance team consisting of 10 heads.

What you will be doing/ The ideal profile;
In an ideal world the incoming candidate will be a fully qualified chartered accountant with ACA or ACCA and trained in a practice environment. However, that is not to say that candidates who are qualified by experience will not be considered as well as those who are part-qualified and still studying towards their qualifications (salary and package on offer can be adjusted accordingly to include study support).
It is essential that you have a full working knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping , preparing VAT returns and producing management accounts(preferably in a 'group reporting' environment).
As this is a small team environment you will be assigned some more 'transactional' tasks such as bank reconciliations, posting of journals and BACS payment runs.
