Finance Analyst

Finance Analyst required for a blue chip company based in Birmingham city centre. This is an ideal opportunity for a CIMA/ACCA finalist or newly-qualified candidate from a big company background to move across to a blue chip promising all-round finance exposure and potential to progress down a senior management route.

As the Finance Analyst you will be responsible for:

• Production of timely and accurate month end management accounts
• Leading production of financial reporting in Cognos financial suite
• Business partnering with the FP&A team on a regular basis
• Cash flow forecasting and budgeting processes
• Financial modelling and assisting the Senior Analyst with detailed analysis of finance and sales data
• Improving reporting tools and continuous improvement of finance processes
• Updating and training others in the team on system improvements (Cognos and others)

Person requirements:
The ideal candidate will come from a big company background and be a finalist or newly-qualified (ACCA/CIMA). You will be able to produce full management accounts and have excellent Excel skills including the use of vlookups, pivot tables, SUMIFs and macros.

Though not essential, previous experience in analysing large data sets and setting up/maintaining financial models in Excel using VBA would be advantageous. Previous systems administration or development experience would be ideal, especially if previously you have used Cognos.
