Pure are proud to be working in partnership with Sue Ryder Care, to support the recruitment of a new Head of Finance to their Sudbury administration offices.
This is a high profile, challenging position with great scope to contribute to the ongoing change programme, staff development and continued growth of the charity. Reporting to the London based Director of Finance, your role will predominantly be based in Sudbury but will require weekly travel to their offices in the City.

As a member of the Senior Management Team, the purpose of your role is to lead and develop a large finance department, delivering a high quality service to internal and external stakeholders. Promoting a culture of continuous process improvement and greater business acumen, you have the opportunity to work with department heads to enhance financial awareness and empower staff to make sound business decisions.

Key responsibilities:
* Ensure the efficient running of transactional finance and management reporting functions
* Development of staff through regular 1-2-1's and annual performance reviews
* Co-ordination, planning and support of the Charities external Audit, ensuring accounting practices are SORP compliant
* Produce monthly consolidated management accounts with analysis and commentary
* Cashflow forecasting and workign capital management
* System and process improvements
* Key stakeholder management with internal and external advisor's
* Ensure appropriate controls and risk management assurance processes are in place, striking the correct balance between control and operational effectiveness
* Effective management of finance budget

Knowledge and Experience required
* Full professional accountancy qualification - ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA
* Solid, in-depth post qualification experience in a staff management position
* Knowledge of Companies Act, VAT and Gift Aid knowledge
* Treasury management and cash flow forecasting
* Previous business transformation and systems implementation experience
* Monthly reporting for the Board
* Track record of effective management of external advisor relationships
* Previous experience of charity reporting, ideally combined with having worked within industry.
