We are currently seeking a Finance Business Partner to provide financial support to new and existing business activities and end-to-end profit and loss account analysis and interpretation to the management team into the key drivers behind the financial performance of the business.
Job Duties:
Business Partner Support
- Provide business partner support through MI production, analysis and commercial discussion. Ensure that MI is accurate and fit for purpose to drive commercial discussions. Monitor relevant KPI’s with the business to ensure success.
- Work with the relevant business teams (such as Pricing, Marketing and Sales) to prepare appropriately detailed financial models that reflect the commercial terms for business opportunities. Provide guidance and challenge to the business on projected benefits and costs.
Business Planning & Forecasting
- Manage and produce the five year and annual plan including preparation of the Annual Planning document to PRA standard and to reforecast these plans throughout the year. Provide guidance and challenge to the business in the preparation of the budget and forecasts, ensure reporting deadlines are met, and budget submissions accurately reflect the areas needs and can be fully justified.
Board Reporting & Management Information
- Develop and maintain the production of accurate and timely management information reports (e.g. Intermediary or Broker Exco reports, reports for parent Group and Risk Committees), and undertake rigorous forecasting techniques in order that informed business decisions can be taken.
Skills Required:
- Qualified Accountant
- Experience of a range of accounting techniques and tools (e.g. management accounting, investment appraisal, ratio and variance analysis, UKGAAP, IFRS, corporation tax)
- Knowledge of the UK Financial Services Market, in particular General Insurance and Life Insurance
- Personal effectiveness – able to manage and schedule conflicting tasks to meet timescales
- Data modelling – able to interpret data and carry out data analysis to support problem solving and decision making
- Communication and presentation – can deliver clear concise written or verbal reports and able to adapt communication style to suit audience
- Ability to appropriately influence others
