Management Accountant / Finance Manager
£33,000pa - £36,000pa - 12 Month FTC - Northampton
Investigo are recruiting on behalf of one of our larger clients based in Northampton for a Management Accountant to join the business on a FTC for 12 months to cover Maternity. This role is a Management Accountant/Finance Manager role - it can be adapted in some aspects to suit the right candidate.
The role requires an individual to take ownership of all financial reporting, controls and business partnering for their respective distribution network. The duties of the role are largely oriented around a weekly and monthly timetable, and a core part of the role will involve generating the monthly P&L, associated analysis and presentations to the distribution management teams. Annual budgets and forecast will occupy a large chunk of time every quarter in line with the planning timetable.
The Main Duties for this role will include:
- Accountable for all month-end processes including accruals & prepayments, generation of P&Ls, variance analysis and commentary for management accounts and board packs.
- Annual budgets and quarterly re-forecasts. Responsible for the full P&L covering stock loss, transport, warehouse, facilities and overhead costs.
- Development of a consolidated financial and operational KPI pack and presenting it as part of weekly and monthly financial reviews with supply chain leadership teams.
- Balance sheet controls and reconciliations.
- Weekly flash reporting.
- Risk and opportunities tracking. Proactively looking forward identifying and managing financial risks and opportunities.
- Finance business partnering of supply chain managers, providing quality support and challenge.
- Other general finance support e.g. lease-or-buy decisions, appraisal of development opportunities and initiatives.
This role requires someone who is available at short notice - ideally immediately or on 1 - 2 weeks' notice. You will need to have proven experience in Traditional management accounting duties. Generating P&Ls, balance sheet recs etc., have high competency in Excel and other desktop applications. You will need to be able to prioritise own workload, working to deadlines and demonstrate a strong a sense of ownership.
This role will involve occasional - up to 4 times per month travel between office locations.
