Commercial Accountant
Are you somebody that is confident preparing management accounts and wants to gain more experience interacting with the business? Gleeson Recruitment Group are supporting a leisure provider in Birmingham who are looking for a Commercial Accountant to support their operational and sales teams. This is a new role within an established team that are looking to split their current workloads by offering a strong Management Accountant the opportunity to interact with the business more.
The Commercial Accountant role will include:
- Advise and support the business unit management in the development of financial plans, and in the commercial, operational and financial delivery of strategic objectives.
- Supporting the business in taking financial decisions and being accountable for the outcomes through effective reporting and analysis
- Effective business partner contributing to key decisions
- Providing timely and robust financial information e.g. management accounts, budgets, corporate plans and ad hoc analysis to support decision making
- To improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes and controls, and risk management.
Is the Commercial Accountant role right for you?
This opportunity would suit a recently qualified (ACCA or CIMA) Management Accountant who has developed their experience within a traditional management accounts role and has the ambition and personality needed to build relationships with the wider business. Experience interacting with the business would be an advantage, however, due to having a strong team around you, support will be provided to individuals with the hunger and ability to take on the challenge.
If you are looking for a new job title in 12 – 18 months, this won’t be right. If you want to build on your experience taking on new projects and different business areas over a 2/3 year window then this would be an excellent role and see you gain the experience you need to move away from a month end focused role.
