Accounts Assistant

Are you an Accountant Assistant seeking a role that will really utilise your ability in tasks relating to the preparation and maintenance of financial records; as well as cash handling, offering backroom support to other departments and supporting the Finance Manager for management and financial reporting?

Essential Functions:

AP

  • Update SAP System with intercompany invoices
  • Process authorized payment runs via multinational currencies when required.
  • Manage monthly staff expenses claim
  • Help AP when required.

Inventory

  • Reconciliation of shipments of purchased goods.
  • Managing the weekly cycle count process with the Logistics Manager.

General Ledger

  • Reconciling and analyzing certain accounts in the company’s ledger
  • Preparation of month end reclass journals.
  • Maintain monthly prepayment and accrual schedules.
  • Post bank journals and perform bank reconciliation

Other

  • Managing Statutory reporting requirements
  • Managing monthly data for the two largest customer buying groups
  • Preparation of the monthly Sales Commission figures for the sales team
  • Assist the Financial Manager with any other duties required.
  • Assisting in the monthly management reporting cycle.
  • Intrastat and EC Sales List reporting to HMRC

Qualifications/experience

  • Must have some relevant industry experience working in accounting departments, covering AP, AR, and GL work
  • Studying towards a recognized Accounting Qualification (CIMA, ACCA etc)
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft applications, Sage and SAP, a plus.
  • A working knowledge on Inco terms and the requirements for foreign invoicing.
  • Good written and oral communication with external and internal customers.
  • A flexible approach workload to allow for unscheduled tasks to be performed and still meet deadlines in a timely manner.
