South Cambridge, United Kingdom – Our client is a financial services business based South of Cambridge which is seeking to recruit a Financial Controller.
Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will take ownership for the development and maintenance of a robust control framework to ensure the timely delivery of financial information across the group and its subsidiaries for use in internal and external reporting. The Financial Controller will oversee the Group’s statutory and regulatory reporting processes whilst providing technical advice and support to the Finance team on external reporting matters.
The Financial Controller will be responsible for timely and accurate recording of financial transactions for all group companies and for the reconciliation of systems and balances to provide an accurate monthly trial balance - ensuring compliance with Treasury policy throughout.
You will be responsible for the publishing of statutory accounts and the preparation of consolidated group and company results, as well as the Group annual report and accounts to audit standard ensuring compliance with UK GAAP.
The role will involve ensuring accurate and timely compliance with all other tax reporting and filing obligations for the Group and will be responsible for the completion of specified regulatory returns whilst overseeing regulatory reporting processes.
The successful candidate will be qualified (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) and will ideally have relevant experience in a similar role within financial services. However, our client will also consider someone who has trained and progressed in a large accounting firm and is looking to make their first move into industry and commerce. To succeed in the role you will be able to demonstrate team management skills and be able to motivate and develop the existing Financial Control team.
