Financial Controller

Our client, a successful and established manufacturing business are looking to strengthen their existing finance department with this newly created role of Financial Controller.

Education and Experience:

·        Educated to AAT/CIMA or AAT/CIMA studier

·        Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.

·        Must have excellent IT skills with strong Excel skills

·        Must possess attention to detail

·        Must possess excellent communication and time management skills.

·        Ability to work well under pressure.

·        Previous SAP Experience in manufacturing environment desired          

Main Responsibilities:

 -Process monthly accruals and prepayments.

- Reconcile stock between the accounting system and the stock management system.

- Assist in preparation of monthly accounts and supporting documentation

- Maintain and update control accounts including calculation of monthly accruals and prepayments

- Assisting in the preparation and reconciliation of the monthly VAT return and annual HMRC tax compliance returns

- Assist with periodic forecasts and budgets.

- Balance Sheet reconciliations

-Process bank transactions in SAP

- Provide second line support for Sales Ledger/Purchase Ledger/Stock Ledger

- Process Monthly Journals

- Maintain Fixed Asset Register

- Ad-hoc project work and financial analysis as required

- Reconciling data

- Assistance with the production of year end Statutory Accounts.

Position Characteristics:

Must be dynamic, intuitive, extremely well organized, computer literate with a high competency in IT, efficient, and able to multi task within tight timescales.  Experience of dealing with Forex currencies desired.

A flexible attitude to work is also essential, as the working patterns and requirements will vary. 

Must be prepared to learn new skills, and to share knowledge and skills within the wider team.
