Payroll Administrator
Based in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, our client is a fast moving and exciting business services company who are looking to add several Payroll Administrators to their growing team on a permanent basis.
This job would suit someone with previous payroll experience and excellent attention to detail with strong administration and customer service skills. The main purpose of this role will be to administer payroll data and ensure accurate and timely submissions to the payroll system, whilst maintaining correct records.
This company is a nationwide business with more than 10,000 employees and a strong foothold in their market. They are continuously expanding and are constantly recognised for their excellent service.
The successful individual will have great communication and presentation skills along with an excellent level of numeracy and grammar. A good telephone manor with great interpersonal skills is vital to this role. The candidate must be computer literate with good Word, Excel and Outlook skills. The individual must be able to plan and prioritise their workload to ensure objectives are achieved on time. Good attention to detail with the ability to understand and implement processes along with the ability to build appropriate and professional relationships with employees is essential.
Duties will include:
- Inputting starter information on to payroll system with a high level of accuracy
- Processing leavers
- Issuing tax forms e.g. P45's, P60's
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK checks
- Processing numerous payrolls weekly for over 9000 employees, processing the wages journal & dealing with payroll queries
- Reconciling wages accounts & carrying out payroll calculations such as Maternity, Paternity, Sickness and Pension
- Responsible for all statutory requirements including RTI
- Sending information and liaising with HMRC
- Preparing and uploading Auto Enrolment reports (Excel) to Work Place Pension Provider
- Checking timesheets and amend when needed
- Create and analyse reports on timesheet statistics using Excel
- Liaise with the finance department to resolve any issues
- Assist in the running of the weekly payroll operation
- Answering payroll queries promptly and effectively via telephone and email
- Administrative duties such as scanning, photocopying and filing
