An Interim Financial Controller is required to take on a Contract while my Client recruits the same position permanently. Should you wish, you could also be considered for the Permanent vacancy so this role could be Interim to Permanent, or Interim for around 5 months. The Permanent Salary on offer will be in the region of £45,000 - £50,000.

My Client is an SME based in Salford. The Financial Controller position is very diverse and will require involvement in non-Finance duties.

The main objective of this role is getting the Managing Director through their Board meeting in June so you will be required to quickly get up to speed as a fully functioning member of the team.

Other duties will include:

- Project Management

- Managing all aspects of the Business Services team. Ensuring the effectiveness of Finance related systems, procedures & reporting mechanisms

- Regular liaison with Senior Management Team

- Undertaking the temporary overall management of the company in tandem with other members of the Senior Management Team in the absence of the Managing Director, making any necessary & required decisions

- Helping to shape the business strategy and ensuring adherence to and performance against vision, aims & company targets

- Managing a team of 5 people (Finance & Non-Finance)

- Ensuring that all Financial & Corporate Governance activities are legally compliant and conform to best accountancy practice

- Ensuring delivery of high value & high profile projects relating to the company operation

Experience / Qualifications required:

- Must be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)

- It would be ideal if you have had exposure to other departments whilst carrying out a Finance role. You must be interested and prepared to be involved with other functions outside of Finance.

- Experience of working within a comparable role in an SME or Charity would be desirable

- Experience of managing people

- Substantial experience of working within a strategic financial role post-qualification

- Experience of inputting to long-term strategic planning

- Experience of developing and writing strategic reports / business cases suitable for dissemination at Board level

This is a great opportunity to carry out a key all-encompassing role in a small, close-knit operation which involves other functions in addition to Finance, such as Project Management. Flexible working hours are also on offer.
