A commemorative event based charity based in central / south London is seeking a Finance & Resources Manager for a permanent role. The role can be on a full-time, or a 4 day per week part-time basis. The role involves responsibility and oversight of the charity’s finances, along with broader resources duties within HR and general operations.
The role will involve:
-Support the Chief Executive in developing the budget, providing forecasts, phasing, analysis and financial advice
-Manage the HMDT fund, resources and assets
-Oversee the production of accurate, timely management accounts
-Act as Secretary for the Finance Committee of trustees
-Support Chief Executive and Treasurer to fulfil the organisation’s legal and financial obligations
-Be responsible for the charity’s annual review and audit and ensure annual returns are filed in line with current legislation
-Manage the creation, update and dissemination of HR policies and procedures
-Manage recruitment of permanent and temporary staff and freelancers
-Oversee the office premises and agreements
-Oversee office administration, including working with external suppliers where appropriate
-Oversee IT
-Ensure Health and Safety Compliance
-Line management of the Operations Team
Requirements:
-Ideally fully qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA accountant
-Strong understanding of SORP accounting guidelines, and knowledge of current developments and issues affecting charity law, finance compliance and statutory reporting requirements (e.g. Companies House)
-Strong understanding of HR requirements, e.g. data protection, diversity, health and safety, child protection
-Experience of providing financial analysis and advice to senior staff
-Experience of developing and monitoring budgets
-Experience of managing end of year accounts and liaising with external auditors
-Experience in line management
-Experience of managing back-office functions and support services including human resources, office facilities, IT, databases, insurance, risk register, business continuity, disaster recovery etc.
-Sensitive to the needs of holocaust / genocide survivors
